📈 The Booming Online Beauty Business
Beauty ecommerce is big business and only getting bigger.
The US forecast for 2023 is for almost $25 billion to be spent online on the sector. Which is a decent chunk of change.
Growth is exploding, 2022 online sales more than doubled those of 2019.

But this trend makes a lot of sense to me. It's not a category that hinges on sizing and fit. You can't try on / test in store (for the most part). Fluorescent store lighting doesn't provide any more accurate a sense of shade and skin tone match than good product photography (though I have no experience here so I could be way wrong).
What digital does offer that retail can't touch is: limitless shelf space , way more filtering and discovery options, AR lenses and filters for digital try on, user generated content, and all the other good stuff we're used to online these days.
