More Splintering

By the time I finally write up and share why I think 2023 will be The Year of the Splinter, it will be old news.

Today's proof of splinter: marketplaces. 1-800-Flowers is launching its own third-party gift marketplace.

A twist on the marketplace concept, curate a collection of complimentary products from other brands related to your niche / sector. For example, a high-end pajama company that started a relaxation and sleep product shop within its stores.

To The Cloud!

Microsoft Cloud is doing great. And it hasn’t even gone full ChatGPT yet.

This success, when compared to Google Cloud Platform, shows the advantage Microsoft has when it comes to enterprise infrastructure and sales.

Google knows scale. Microsoft knows sales.

In-Office vs. Remote

Remote jobs are still in high demand, but employers are listing fewer remote opportunities.

This may just be an overreaction to the forced transition to heavily remote for some companies. Or maybe the “new normal” of work will look a lot like the “old normal.”
